Costello 2nd wheat drilled on the 2/10/18 at 160kg/ha. Disced lightly, roundup, Claydon drilled and rolled.

Did you put the extra weights on for this job or are they on all the time? What kind of speed were you doing? At what speed do you find the seed depth becoming more even on arable stubbles when sowing cereals?

I'm sure you weren't expecting the Spanish Inquisition * Just curious. That looks a very tidy job

I've had the weights on the whole time, it's not heavy enough without imo.
Certainly made a more consistent job with them.
I'm doing 7-8 kmh.
I want as low disturbance as possible.
I'm also keeping the hopper half full all the time.

Graham drilled at 160kg/ha with Claydon straight into maize stubble for a neighbour, 28/9/18.

Elicit 1st wheat after beans, 200kg/ha, drilled 5/10/18, rolled 5/10/18, pic taken 3 days ago. Bean stubble had 1 pass with the stubble rake. 5kg/ha Sluxx yesterday.

Elicit 1st wheat after OSR, 190kg/ha, drilled 4/10/18, rolled 5/10/18, pic taken today. OSR stubble raked 3 times. 5kg/ha Sluxx 3 days post drilling. Headland in foreground was cultivated with unipress to level out some drainage work.

KWS Orwell W Barley, 190kg/ha, drilled 2/10/18, rolled 3/10/18, pic today. Disced and pressed wheat stubble, no slug pellets.
All Sumo DTS drilled.

Really quite pleased with how evenly our strip tilled oats have come up, drilled 10th & 11th October. The structure of the soil is coming along nicely compared to a few years ago. Just a shame there isn't much you can do with any newly emerged BG in oats.

Been asked to plant 230ac ground that has been down to grass for 14 years. Made a start today and looks to be going well although a bit steady.

It almost feels wrong as were only the other side of the canal from the old dowdswell factory. Bone dry with 3 inch wide cracks in the ground. Just a bit bothered by the low seed rate the costomer wants.

That looks smart, thought that drill would of left it rough like a claydon

I've had to put the single row, narrow seed boot that I use for rape and beans on, but with the fan up fairly high its spreading the wheat seed in a ban about 4.5 to 5 inches wide.
