I have a quicker more reliable connection out in the sticks than lads I play with in Edinburgh. Connection speed is everything now unfortunately.

Haven’t bought a physical game for years and even if you do now half the time it’s just a code in a case to download the actual game and some games being 50gb+ could take a while on a <1mbps connection!

Will be difficult for anymore to play modern games unless they have a 10mbps connection minimum soon.

I remember when dialup 56kbs was good, the odd person like us (mum had a job which relied heavily on transferring data files) so we had ISDN (128kbs) for £45/month. Then ADSL came along which gave a speed of 512kbs which was the mutts nutts. Now the internet isn’t used for gaming and we’ve got
80mbs :0

C&C/Red Alert (not Generals though), Cossacks: Battle for Europe, Constructor & Company of Heros 2, none online against anyone else as I am crap!
The C&C were really hit and miss, every other seemed to be good, Tiberian sun and generals were crap. Yet Red alert series were awesome!
Used to play a lot of RA2 Yuris revenge.

I loved Tiberian sun and didn’t mind generals my old computer couldn’t run RA2 so gave up and stayed with consoles for a while. Now I have a decent PC and a OH that conquers the TV 8-10 every night i haven’t turned my Xbox for months.

Pretty cool to hear what everyone plays.

I enjoy playing SimAgri every now and again, pretty good game, especially for free on any browser, no download required.

You can do your own breeding, sheep, poultry, cattle, pigs etc and it's really fun and I have spent 5 or 6 pounds on that game

I'd reccomend it to anyone

My favourites at the moment are probably War Thunder, Kerbal Space Program and EVE Online.

Been playing EvE now for 12years, and I can't see myself stopping. Although these days I probably play it for about an hour a week and spend the rest of the time reading about it and tending to my spreadsheets.

...that is a game that will consume you, but it really is the greatest game of all time in my opinion.

...actually I spend a lot of time doing math for kerbal as well, so maybe I just like games that you don't have to actually play.

I am a big fan of the civ series I have played them since I was a boy starting with the original. I will have to upgrade my PC before I get the latest version, likewise it needs upgrading for the newer total war games. I have also had a lot of fun playing Warhammer 40k Dawn of War with the Apocalypse mod.

Also Doom, a great game and Unreal Tournament and all the Command and Conquer series I could go on and on.
