Had a go yesterday after Beet that was lifted a month ago.

Very poor going after a plough.

6” of slop on top.

Thinking that’s it until more Beet is lifted.

The lighter parts of field are just going in ok.

What’s happened to the new 12 metre horsch or is it too wet looks ideal conditions in above clip
Nick...

its a lot wetter than it looks, a LONG way from ideal conditions, it's just the drill treading light and doing a good job that makes it look much better than it is. That land is 20 miles from home and I saw no other drills going on the journey there or back today

However, it is drying up fast this last few days so if that continues the Avatar will be working as well soon and we will have 18m in the ground to get the job done fast

Hi Clive we had a dale on demo end of October
Attached a couple of photos of wheat emerging
I was impressed
I know you used to have a dale drill and wondered what you thought of it
Thanks Dan

I liked the Dale - my co conversion was just a cheaper alternative with less precise depth control meaning I could afford to own a disc drill and a tine drill

I only sold the Dale because I had to choose between a disc or tine drill and felt the disc offered more versatility re cover crops etc and I had had a buyer for the Dale at a good price

Lovely set up that is , that a variopal ? Get on well with it ?
Yep, variopal 120 I've got the choice of flexicoil for light land and beet land in the spring or a lemken +/- crosskill crumble for any heavier or wetter stuff so pretty universal.

I love my lemken that's the 3rd one we've had, this one is getting a bit loose in the bushes now but still ploughs fairly ok so itll keep going for a while yet. I'm a big fan of the slatted boards and they cope with 600's fine.
