grubs short around here, virtually on all bought now, if the rain had come last year, we wouldn't be, rain now, can't get the cows out, masses of grass, bet we will now get a cold east wind, that will burn it off. And they say farmers allways moan.
Still hard too shift hay in the midlands . It made nothing much at Newbury but straw trade was flying

Anyone got any rape straw? Only need about 10 bales for poultry houses scratch areas and then make the rest of the load with barley or wheat. Can arrange own transport to Devon. Thanks

Is there any movement on triple wrapped round bale silage made for dairy cows so good quality in West Midlands ? Bales average 750 kilos. I’m told it’s moved but it’d need to to make it worth selling. Tia

I'd keep it if you can. I have a feeling in my waters it will be needed this year. We might not be able to get hold of wrap or fuel in three months so a pile of bales already made might be a god send in these turbulent times. I am in no rush whatsoever to sell my surplus esecially my hay that will keep. Don't want to scare monger but hanging onto it might just be wise.

I tend to agree with you but could realy do with the money for some of it.
