Never really got out proteins above 3.7 until we started crossing. Now avg 3.8 with at least 100 days above 4% and we had always used +% protein Friesians with low milk.

Would the extra mature be a different recipe?
Bit of a dangerous cycle.
Keep taking cheese before it gets chance to completely mature and end up with customer complaints as "tastes different "

If its drawn early it wont taste as nice. And that's most cheeses

Thats a realy strong organic price considering the current market place
It’s like national press trying to find doom and gloom in everything ‘ annoying it’s coming to hit autumn calvers again’.
Few, for a moment i fought you where upset with the price.
Us autumn calvers need all the help we can get mind

as we may well find out, but the spr calvers do tend to produce the bulk of their/our milk, at cheapest production, that's why they/we do it, but, an autumn drop, hurts the 'autumn/winter' producers, much more than the spr, they don't have to fine tune their rations ! But, will be the normal, I expect !

I’m sorry, but is there any actual statistical evidence that most milk price reductions hurt autumn calvers over and above Spring calvers ?!
