Looked at some Electrum winter barley today, could be into it in seven to ten days if weather is kind to us.
like starsky and hutch ,, you cant be bothNo, dick dastardly and muttley
I have heads falling off and green straw ?Monday tea time my barley was 14.8%, but rain ever since. Got down from 18.8 to 16.7 this afternoon, so hopefully might get at it tomorrow afternoon. Trouble is it’s now forecasting some rain later on Monday .
You cant have one without the otherlike starsky and hutch ,, you cant be both
Will be lucky if ours is more than 1.5 ton. Will be lucky if it scrapes 2 ton/ acre .
I think I was being generous to myself with the 2 ton to be honest. Thankfully it’s only one field with the barley after maize, looking better . I think barley can’t be drilled early anymore, without Deter. Will be lucky if ours is more than 1.5 ton.
Are you putting stubble turnips in after ?I think I was being generous to myself with the 2 ton to be honest. Thankfully it’s only one field with the barley after maize, looking better . I think barley can’t be drilled early anymore, without Deter.

Even half the farmers weekly yields would be better than some of this. First time round the field is the highest yield, where the trees of hedges provided some shade and/or protected it from those frosts we got in May.
Heavier land should be better When I get to it.
Here is a bit of medium that gave us something a bit more reasonable yields.
The taller the crop, the better the yield!

Started osr this morning. No Farmers Weekly yields!
I drove through Morton in Marsh today, didn’t see anything close to being fit to cut. You must of been hiding behind a hedge.View attachment 893995View attachment 893996View attachment 893997View attachment 893998View attachment 893999View attachment 894000
