Every September my cows go as far as field gate then stop and just stand there, even if you go thro them and get front moving the rest just stand on.

Yes and yes again. No point living here if you're going to work all summer. I spent the afternoon swimming here with the four year old and the dog.

Cows in a new field this morning. Maybe should have taken it with 3rd cut at end of week, but going to chance a dry spell and hope I can get to it and another without too much (more) mess

It’s a long way home from this field.
nearly half way, only three muddy gateways, a steep muddy bank, and the bottomless mud pool at the end of the short track we got put in. I’m not going to post pictures of that bit

Yeah that’s what I suspected. Be very annoying if it’s a young animal
Also spent many minutes trying to assess where a cow has calved or not. Jerseys fire them out then can wander away
Wander away and calve clean as a pin.
When you pd does the vet pick out cows with twins? Check them in the group on the off chance.

Is it in too big a group to rectally examine them all? If you have someone on farm who AI's, they will be able to feel an enlarged cervix. Also, there's a fair chance there will be a smell after a few days

Keep an eye on milk yields. Any individuals with a higher than normal production over the next week would be worth gloving.
