Happy with KV? Did it replace the Vicon drill you had for sale in the classifieds?
Yep it replaced the Vicon which had limited way of working.

Jurys still out on the KV. Doesn't cope with the trash as much as I'd hoped, but then there is more trash than I expected.
Niggling things like bout markers not great imo, packing/unpacking a bit of a fiddle, marker arm will drop.

I'm use to the simple FGS accord box from our combi days. But having it back in the cab seems like a big step back into the past. Getting annoyed at lifting the arm to get past a tree and it changing bout and marker side, then having to button through to get back on the correct bout.

All that said, it puts in seed better than any other drill I've had. And I have no doubt that I managed to drill yesterday when no other drill would had even looked at it. And it put 50% of the seed in the right way up!

Hopefully it will still have plenty more acres to drill this Autumn to impress me

Well we started drilling last Saturday and everything has gone into perfect seedbeds , tho I have to say I hope they cope with the rain that is forecast . Once we saw what was forecast we kept on going and the drill has covered about 450 acres by Thurs evening , would if been 500 but rain delayed Thursdays start . Only time will tell if we are right or wrong but this land does not yield if mauled in

PS I wish we had some bigger fields ,

That's a lot more in than last year for now isn't it?

I moved vicon to KV
The step backwards with control box is painful .

Drilled half our small acreage last sat, sun and Monday in good conditions and rolled, which nothing was last year. Travelled from Cornwall to Northamptonshire via M5 and M42 then to staffordshire up the M1 and by and large everything was tilled that looked like it was going to be. Some was even up.

Often wonder how many forum members I passed?🤔

Wondering if I should have disced a load more up to weather as so far it’s been ok today and nothing yesterday but I was concerned by the forecast

Looks like I am going to have to get my butt into gear after work and turn the pile of parts I have amassed into a drill this week

couldnt sow or do anything on the land yesterday due to a shower or 3 during the night and a heavy mist/dew .So far this morning seem to have missed the heaviest rain but doesnt bode well for this afternoon, dont know wether the rainfall radar is a good or bad idea it seems to be building my stress levels more than it eases them!!!!
We are at the 75% autumn sowing target inc osr wb done with mainly 2nd or longer ww to go ,will need a couple of dry days to get on some ploughed but it is mostly on kinder land and is about a third of whats left the rest is in stubble. That we have sown has gone in well other than an odd patch/corner but nothing has been rolled as am wary of a deluge followed by constant wet as happened last year before emergence when seedlings drowned, reckon we need 4 good long days with at least a couple of drying ones first,we are in front of last year so concerned but not yet panicking ,it could /should still be possible to get sown up by our target date 15th-20th oct with most in before the 10th. Im operating under the glass half full mode and am along with the folks here going to have a well earned weekend of doing as little or bugger all work other than the essentials as ive not had 2 days off in a row since june If it had been non covid times would have whisked mrs 4 course away to some luxury spa

I will it’s going to be a bit rough for the next week the. I will take it apart over winter and tidy it up.

I wanted to make a really smart job first out, but a full time job, the farm, covid and the fact we now have to do both school runs and late harvest has meant I am behind where I wanted to be (it’s really the only outstanding job I have apart from some tree shearing so don’t feel to bad )so it’s going to be a few late nights this week, and hopefully good to at least put seed in the ground

I might even have to resort to dad a brush and some hammerite 🤣

update.last field number 5 sown and drill man knocked of at 2.30 am last night was a tad late in this morning but the other 2 who had knocked of at 8.30 pm and midnight having got as far as they could had got another bit ploughed and 1/2 worked so got that 10 acre sown and then the showers started so drill stopped once up to worked mark ,plough rightly or wrongly finished field so weve ended up winning our own gamble plus a bit but now with a few acres of plough getting wetter ,though its job well done and now caught up and back to needing 5 normal days to finish which for the last day of sept is in front of usual, a g & t beckons then sleep

Haha isn’t that just 2020, it’s seems to be a year of getting close but never quite where I want to be despite working what seems every hour there is 🤣

I want to get Wheat in, sprayed then have a few consecutive days off for the first time this year
Yes it's certainly been one of them years. Lazy weekend this weekend just dog and crop walking. Wet but drains aren't running yet.

Managed to get about 30ac of winter barley in yesterday afternoon despite raining in the morning! On some easy land though

Had to call it a night at half 10 as I ran out of seed with just 1 headland to drill up🤦‍♂️ Should have gone back as it’s p!ssing it down now but really didn’t feel like messing about in the dark riding back.
