Old set of silage sides works well here, holds more than the 14 ton trailer sat next to it and it's handy for tipping in low sheds because its a shorter trailer.
I think that Broughan would hold a lot more, we've an NC flat dumper and drew a load of quarry rubble a couple of weeks ago, trailer is 5m by 2.4m and about 0.75m high sides. Weighbridge tared load was just over 16t. We used the same trailer with extensions for grain and struggle to get 8t of barley in. Trailer is about 4.8t I think from memory. 445/65r22.5 tyres.16 ton broughan? Also does it hold a true 16ton of say drainage chips?

What does it weigh empty out of interest?Yeah will hold 16 ton comfortably, most I've had over a weighbridge was 18.4 ton. Tend to stick around the 15 ton mark though, doesn't peak much over the sides at 15.

Do they stamp a gross weight on the plate?Im not actually sure, there's no weight on the plate, I'd guess 5 ish ton.... Its certainly built to last anyway.

Sounds a good size, just standard spec for a 16 tonner?Yeah will hold 16 ton comfortably, most I've had over a weighbridge was 18.4 ton. Tend to stick around the 15 ton mark though, doesn't peak much over the sides at 15.

Last page you can also specify heavier floors if I remember as it is the only bit of them that ever shows wear, if I was buying mine again I would get a Hardox floor, would do you a lifetime. What are the opions on the NC 300 series dumptrailers ? Hope its ok to ask the question as I dont want to hijack the thread !

Have one here with commercial axles & 10mm floor, good strong trailer, only thing is they don't hold very much for the size on the side. What are the opions on the NC 300 series dumptrailers ? Hope its ok to ask the question as I dont want to hijack the thread !

Yea, but a nc 14 tonner only holds about 12 ton.. and less of gravel. A 14 ton trailer should hold 14 ton of gravel without spilling it. You have to weld greedy boards on which is hassle..There is a reason for this which was discussed above.
Yep, would agree with that. Just buy and price accordingly.Yea, but a nc 14 tonner only holds about 12 ton.. and less of gravel. A 14 ton trailer should hold 14 ton of gravel without spilling it. You have to weld greedy boards on which is hassle..
