Well I’ll take my chances with more steel.Just because its heavier doesnt mean its better built
£35k give or take.
Depends on the manufacturer. Some will build to your specifications, others only do standard builds. Can u get grain sides for a dump trailer?
I always put it down to EU help and support, I thought in Ireland they used the EU money to try to get businesses going (knowing some would make it, others fail, but overall it would help the rural economy), here in the UK we used EU money to get consultants to do reports, so the only people who benefited from the structural funding were the consultants, or if a scheme was implemented it was so full of rules people did not bother. I remember at work, we did some things for an EU scheme, and just had to put so many hours a week towards this scheme (and a diary entry to tie in with the hours), but actually did no different, so the money really was no help at all ~ I think that basically is the British bureaucrats reason structural funding did no help here at all.Irish mentality. Farmer who knows how to use a welder. Decides to start building his own trailers for cheaper than buying a new one. Turns into a business. Repeat
I wouldn't think too many of the engineering shops started on the back of an EU grant. They may have availed of some when they got going but id say a lot of these firms started off very small and grew through their own effort.I always put it down to EU help and support, I thought in Ireland they used the EU money to try to get businesses going (knowing some would make it, others fail, but overall it would help the rural economy), here in the UK we used EU money to get consultants to do reports, so the only people who benefited from the structural funding were the consultants, or if a scheme was implemented it was so full of rules people did not bother. Pictures up on slurrykat Facebook of dumpers with silage sides on topCan u get grain sides for a dump trailer?
Haybobs do both jobs well, just not quivklyTo me a dumper type trailer with removable silage sides would be like a haybob, can do two jobs but not necessarily that well.
I had with with driven axles it cost €40,000,
Can u get grain sides for a dump trailer?
No , to qualify for grants you have to be creating a new product or at least a product that’s not being made already in the country, they don’t give grants to start making products in competition to similar already being made in the country. It also has to have export potential to qualify.I wouldn't think too many of the engineering shops started on the back of an EU grant. Surely a trailer strong enough to be used successfully as a dump will be unnessecarily heavy to be used to haul silage. And a trailer that is built to compromise between the two is going to be under great stress when hauling stone or into the axles in clay with full loads on.Haybobs do both jobs well, just not quivkly
How would a dump trailer with high sides removed not be a good dump trailer?
Ditto with grain sides on?

Everything is s compromise, unless you won the lottoSurely a trailer strong enough to be used successfully as a dump will be unnessecarily heavy to be used to haul silage. Still be better than nothing I suppose but not ideal.
