If it’s a bit sticky I’ve found speeding up stops healing in the seed as much this year I’ve drilled most a 12kph
You might make it better by fitting the bleed properly instead of it being rammed right on.Anyone had issues with HSS W Barley seed bridging in the coulters and blowing out of the air bleeds ?
Its been a right pain today, appears to lodge where the air bleed meets the steel coulter pipe
Yes, thanks, had started playing with the distance on those, I know to keep going nowIt means about an inch from the bottom of the rubber to the frame of the Coulter if that makes sense.
What’s the thinking on headlands, tried both ways this year and by far the easiest is to drill around the field 4 times then fill in the middle. Tried doing the headlands last, but not pretty backing into the corners and performing the U turn [emoji848]
I hate to say it, as it’s only made just down the toad from me, but anyone else think the Stocks Roto Meter is the weakest link on the GD ? Yet again I had to empty 70kg out of it as it had gummed up sitting in the shed. Seems such a poor design the way the plastic hopper sits in the ring, any moisture and it seems to gravitate there and gum it up
Yes........5th time this season, twice was when I got caught out drilling in the field when it rained. What was in it? Sluggies?
Will you share it when you work it out please ?I've not had any trouble with pellets gumming the rotor meter up, but did have trouble with pellets managing to creep in between the discs and increasing the drag till the motor overloads and cuts out.
I am thinking of adding a slide shut off between the hopper and meter so that the rotor can be service with seed still in the hopper.
We have drilled silage grass on notill ground and stewardship cocksfootI plan on trawling through this thread but has anyone done any grass sowing at 16.6cm rows and how has it done? Usually sow italian ryegrass. Would want to avoid cross drilling at all costs.
