Be many that have been breaking even for donkeys years not just whilst growing. Living through the business and saving a few quid tax and all over the Tax credits etc. Very rare you can eat your cake and keep it.

Not at all, genuine hardship fair enough but I do resent having to pay higher taxes in the future to pay for all those out there claiming that have no genuine need for help, unfortunately we live in a very "entitled" society.
You obviously don't pay tax and are quite happy to take all the handouts you can get!
I pay a lot of tax been in the 40% bracket a few times so seen as though I paid a lot in I have no qualms about taking a bit back out

Doesn't sound like you are in desperate need, but if you feel covid has truly impacted you fair enough,a lot of BS on here regarding commodity prices, malting barley prices were no worse last year than the average over 10yrs,feed barley now at £150,last years weather was the biggest factor nothing to do with covid, can't think of much UK farm produce that has truly taken a hit because of covid.

Produce no but a lot of farms have diversified over the years and most have been completely shafted by their diversification projects, I know some that laid off 90 staff on the diversification side
