Yes but that's fine if you can calculate it . I seem to be in the situation where the digger man says there is no answer. I can't store it but I have to divert it some way without spending a fortune.

You could block build a dirty water tank, which you can spread from during the closed period. If I remember correctly, the cutoff is 200 units of biological oxygen demand. I was told this is very thin looking stuff.

So yes mabe stock numbers up a bit but main difference is startin milk which meant more fully grown stock meanin more slurry. There was a tank built when we started dairy but we stil need more storage and want more cows. I only have between 50-60 goin thru parlour at any time and need more to make a decent livin plus pay debt

Slurry, if it is a problem, has been created by farmers. We all know the minimum requirements for storage which is longer than the closed period and the restrictions with regards to spreading, but we have to keep pushing the limits by increasing stock numbers and duking a load out during the closed period, the EA clamp down and it's all their fault for enforcing the rules.
It's really quite simple if you don't have enough storage, build more or cut back stock.

What is the ballpark figure for a 300k concrete store atm?

Agreed but more slurry needs more ground to spread it on. More pence per litre of milk and less cows in the country is my answer. The big question is how?!

Its quite simple. Pay more money to the men that has the cows out in summer. That would disencourage the man with 80-100 cows from goin to 200 cows. If there was say 5ppl difference in grazed cows compared to housed cows it would help

Slurry storage is cheap if you consider the lifespan is usually 2 generations give or take so are there any reasonable executes for lack of storage. Below ground 300k tank would be similar cost as the above ground cost quoted by @yin ewe
