The NFU and industry representatives have a seat at the table, potentially voice their opinion, and then get out voted I suspect.
Whether their opinion is the same as the majority of the farming industry I can't say, and they don't even know what the majority of farmers want, probably 50,000 different things.
As I have pointed out on another thread, as an elected NFU representative, I am left to guess what my farmer members want. I have had NO representations made to me. None. Not one.
Members then threaten to leave.
Why have I not had dozens members on the phone or email giving me their opinion? I don't get it.
Also, communication is two way.
You say your farmer members made you guess what they want as they made no representations.
Presumably you have asked them what they want and they didn't reply?
