American's would feck anyone. I can't watch an American TV station without feeling the urge that I should be suing somebody :ROFLMAO:

I would totally agree with the first part of what you have said, in essence if you are not breaking the law then you should have nothing to fear from it etc. Having worked in the states I know first hand that gun ownership by individuals has far greater cultural significance than it ever has here. In effect it seems bound up with the national identity to some extent. For that reason I think it is difficult for people here to understand the reluctance of the U.S people/government to effectively put measures in place to control firearm misuse. Over here ONE shooting that involved hand guns and high power semi-auto rifles effectively saw both being made illegal and firearm law tightened. Many European countries as well as Australia and even South Afrifca have significantly changed their policy towards gun ownership on the back incidents,or a series of them, that saw large numbers of innocent people killed or wounded. I'm sure in time America will have to do something, it seems inevitable that it will take time though as there are some deeply entrenched views and passionate arguments on both sides. Pure lely from the perspective of the outside looking in, it is perplexing that nothing's been done given the scale of the problem though.

The Telegraph link said Builders were top of the tree with 39 casualties last year. Hmmm - 40 women died at the hands of their partners in the same time scale. This year 2 women are murdered every week by their partner or ex partner. Maybe being in a relationship is the most dangerous job.

I agree with you on how something needs done. But. You cannot take a constitutional right away from law abiding citizens. Decriminalize marijuana and make gun crimes heavier sentenced.

Sounds like being a woman in a relationship is dangerous.

Ah yet another validation for being single. I shall be single and work at Tim Hortons. No Canadian would ever dream of harming someone who works there. I'll be safe til the end of days.

the trouble most people don't whats good for them, maybe an amendment is required "law abiding citizens deserve not murdered by fire arm" -

I do understand your point on constitutional right. But as you say the law has no respect - or could it be the other way around that there is no trust in law and order.

hmm dunno as ever statistics mean nothing, whether a partner or ex partner dont really mean much.the facts are acts of random violence are very rare you are more likely to be murdered by a partner, relative or friend than some stranger and according to this link it is 7 women and 2 men

Read this. It happened about 20 minutes away from me. There are many police officers killed on and off duty trying to apprehend someone. I guess what I'm saying is this is a matter of opinion.

as an outsider looking in, with probably no real inkling of whats going, your opinion is most helpful, as with most newreport they form some sort of bias, to the left or right.
