Okay, let's follow this through. You get you're "scalp", the mob is temporarily happy, RT/NFU think that they've placated everyone and nothing changes. And so it goes on ad infinitum.
No way am I defending AB's words or RT or NFU. AB is though a human being, treat him as one, two wrongs don't make a right.

human beings are accountable for their actions

especially to those that pay their salaries

guess you are right, but are not the farmers/employees who get their livelhoods and lives screwed up by these market access schemes etc not human beings also , I suspect when you started you made less than perfect conditions and facilities work to produce reasonable stock many times .

I don't want a single scalp, I want root and branch change and that starts with getting rid of the most obvious candidates. Treating him like an adult human being in full possession of his faculties means holding him to account, and holding people in positions of influence and authority to account isn't 'wrong', it's right.and the alternative is diren

I have no idea why you are being so self righteous in this matter; the guy is and has acted like a pr*ck, he should pay the penalty for doing so, one down. Then the rest of RT and the NFU should be held to account too, but it can't happen because a) it is utterly undemocratic and unrepresentative, and b) apologists for them keep them in place by default.

I am intrigued as to how this works , would other farmers pay their cowman to milk on another farm most days ?

He will of sold it to his boss that allowing him a 2nd job will promote the estate (yep well done Andrew on giving it bad publicity) and also connections to the people in power in U.K. agriculture.

You might well have been a QC (iirc) but you'll never make a detective!

No, I didn't take Silk and wasn't on my feet long enough to do so even had I wanted to; I'm merely an humble 'utter' Barrister...

As for detective abilities, there's a hell of a difference twixt belief and certainty - I have my own very reasonable suspicions, but they don't amount to factual evidence. (y)

I would think that on the whole AB is a decent and honourable chap and he has undoubtedly done well for himself to be Estate Manager for Euston.

However, he is not a typical Farmer/Farm Manager to sit in his position as VC with RT.

Now that he has made such terrible gaffs by hurling unapologetic insults, abuse and disrespect towards his lesser mortals and members, the decent and honourable thing would be for him to resign, immediately!

And that goes for anybody else within it or the other organisations associated with RT, who act or are as unrepresentative of it, in a similar way.

Beat the team, not the man.
Normally id agree with you @Suffolk Serf but it was Andrew who opened the batting on this one and worse he used his slot in the Farmers weekly a magazine we have to put our hands in our pocket for to insult the readership .
Well either he is well up for a scrap or he is himself very naive but he has to be held to account and no better crowd than the TFF flying squad to do the business on him (y)(y). Maybe he might care to name the " backstabbers " and define what exactly what the are guilty of ?? The concept of dissent obviously doesent agree with Andrew .
Furthermore i now call on the editor of the FW to dispense with Andrews services he has been around far too long and really needs a good cooling and a lesson in manners .
