Your right.Not surprised. A 724 would be more equal to a 4220.
Why didn't you run bigger 8000 series?
We did try an 8330, turning radius was one of main drawback

Any evidence they have been made "safer" to make them more reliable in recent years?it will only work to parameters it deems safe
JD autopower is the first CVT I’ve driven where it’s possible to really work the engine to its maximum. The old 74 always used to rev away but not actually get anywhere. Haven’t driven a Fendt.
So with the JD auto power, when I drive in a field with say a dung spreader or tanker and engage the pto, do I need to set the revs on the hand throttle, like NH/Case, or do I set the speed on the lever and the revs work off my foot peddle?
Amen to that. You need to use the lever in the field and the throttle on the road. They are both simple potentiometers, how hard can it be to change that around? You set the revs on the hand throttle or in the computer screen and then you control forward speed with the lever.
You'll quickly find how irritating this control setup is when you have implements that needs managing at the same time as you want to change speeds...
7499 from cold start sat in shed n not moved in 2wks & you can change up down no issuesOnly happens in winter, it’s obviously a thing set by Fendt software. I can put the oil temp on the screen and the moment it reaches 10 degrees I can change range. The solution is to buy a 1050 and have no range change

My fastrac is at 3400 hours pulls like a train and hangs on.My new fastrac is pretty crap with an empty trailer or a couple of tons of weight on but surprisingly it doesn't seem too bad loaded.
Had our 7530 with an empty trailer all over the back of me up a hill going to the quarry but coming back loaded they were fairly equal.
I brought this up with someone from the manufacturer and he's hopeful it'll get better in time but I don't think it's the engine as it was revving away fine but the gearbox is the thing holding it back

I did a few weeks switching between a 4220 with about 2000h and a JD6215r autopower and they were absolutely on par with the same 4000 gallons tanker going up hill. The Fastrac was better in any other condition. My fastrac is at 3400 hours pulls like a train and hangs on.
Sisu takes 1000 hours to come in to it's own !!!

Can someone give me a couple of pointers on driving a vario I was thrown on a massey 7760 this wek to lead some slurry 24000l jeantil tri axle.I had a 20 minute drive as passenger with the lad who usually drives it he had it in pedal mode foot flat to the floor and hard on the brakes to stop.I couldn't sem to get a grip with this and used the lever mode semed much better for me but when using this do you use both the lever and brakes to slow down( a bit of a feel thing)sometimes it would sort of over rev is that to much lever and a couple of times I saw a red brake warning light come on on the right side of the dash whats the significance of this?Go easy on me !!
We pull that many gallons with 828s... granted it's not the fastest on hills.I hope you meant to write 8660 'cause I would not want to try and lead a 24m3 tanker with a 7700 series
Yes 77 series, new sales man to the area says its too small for the tanker,( old salesman was a tool but got the deal) doesnt feel unstable or anything just a bit slow down to 11 k in places fully loaded(its on air brakes)

Err,not exactly flat out here, but I get what you're saying. With flat fields you can pull with basically anything, it's a common thing in flat parts of Germany, Denmark etc etc to pull a 25 m3 tanker with a >200 hp tractor, it's not like it takes a lot of PTO power.
Can you explain? I'm a bit confused by your post. I've not driven a vario John Deere in years mind. More familiar with the NH system.
A thing to keep in mind is that the 828 is 1,7 tons heavier than a 7726, and if an 8600 series is 'playing' with a 24m3 tanker you have flat fields in my mind..Err,not exactly flat out here, but I get what you're saying.
Used to have several 8670 MFs in the fleet, they would play with the tanks in most conditions
