This years miscanthus harvest is in the shed - Many years it isn't dry enough to cut until the end of April and the new shoots are showing by the time it is ready to bale a couple of weeks later.
Ours is on the ground but I'm not worried about it getting too wet for about 10 days!
Or new shoots yet either, 3 degrees atm.

It's a record!

We've managed to get to the 4th page without the Ozzies chipping in with "call that a drought?, once we didn't get rain for 17 years and mum had to chop her arm off to feed the dog..."
That's because they're benefiting from a moist summer and lining up bumper crops to harvest. They can't take the p!ss out of the poms when they got our weather!😎🤑🤠

This cold weather will f**k everything up, really haven't had any spring like days around here, maybe one 3 weeks ago, cold for next 10days up in Scotland anyways.

desperate for nice warm steady rain, we are just drying out on top, moisture underground, but not that deep, put a water pipe underground 3 weeks ago , 15ins down, dry. Just hoping it's not 4 dry summers in a row for us, now spring is here, we are looking out for hay, load in today, £100/tonne. could be cheap, or dear, but good insurance.

Plenty of hay here (y) be more like £200 /tonne and you organize a ship to get it through the suez:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Less grass here than there was 2 weeks ago silage pits nearly empty and buying fodder beet for the ewes as there’s no point spreading fert when it’s this cold and dry
