Few degrees wouldn't go amiss either! All we want is a drop of rain!!
And to think they didn’t want weight 6 months since.Bullocks in Darlington today can live with that
Aye softer type grazing cattle would be easier bought in Ayr today. Big cattle and outwintered types still a big trade.J36 store cattle have been a good trade, the edge is off them at the moment, the better cattle were better value today, some plain common things look very dear in comparison.
Thirsk cattle must have been a very good trade going by what mine sold for today.
Would of had my pants down deadweightAnd to think they didn’t want weight 6 months since.
Thrapston have always been £20 behind on ewes imo
Did you sell them amongst the bulls?Bullocks in Darlington today can live with that
Did you sell them amongst the bulls?
With those weights it makes sense
Bullocks don't seem to sell as well among the clean even though its the same buyersWith those weights it makes sense
Surely if they were £20 less, there’s enough different buyers and farmers, to pick them up and take them elsewhere?
Strange how trade is different from mart to martA lot did just that when we used to sell everything there. Coultons, Griffiths etc. A lot of those ewes would wind up at Newark on a Saturday and take decent profit on them.

There’s folks I know buy sheep out of certain auctions and sell them in othersIt might be me but I often think places can go 'stale' especially if numbers start to drop/there isn't the impetus to push on and expand. Whilst trade can pick up elsewhere those places tend to accept that the price they were is what they are and things just stagnate. Also think that it never hurts for auctioneers to visit other places to keep their finger on the pulse but that's just me.
Depends how good the auctioneer is and how whether they let the buyers mess them about. It might be me but I often think places can go 'stale' especially if numbers start to drop/there isn't the impetus to push on and expand.
