A lot less ewes about this week, don’t know whether there’s a lot about for next weeks end of fasting, they’ve been a good trade for a while, is there any number of grazing ewes left?? Same with hoggs, moneys fetch them all on faster through out the year, I reckon the next few weeks gonna be tight on supply, hoggs drying up an not enough springers about!! I’m willing my feckers to grow, I’m just in from doing my third raindance of the day🌧🌧

Late January early February born
I left the calf market after about 20 calves as prices have rocketed and I don't like buying calves that begin with a 3 and a lot today good limmy/blues bulls started with a 4
They payed alright then.
That good that they are selling well got some for next week.....

Good, I’ve a ruck of ewes that were lambing disasters in mid March, fat as you like now. Plus a bunch of blackie ewes I had forgotten were out on keep with a ruck of hoggs. 😁 fingers crossed then!

I’m shocked and disappointed. Having seen recent posts about the top Hogg producer, I had you in my mind as an efficient fella that never took his eye off the ball.
Now we find you’re as fallible as the rest of us. Shocking.🤐🤣
Now there would be your first mistake... assuming I’m infallible... 😂

In my defence, they are the same size as most of the hoggs... they don’t exactly stand out. Some little cheapy ewes I bought out of Hexham in November. Now I come too think of it, they weren’t that cheap either 😳

No doubt you’ll come out smelling of roses, given the current ewe trade.👍

Was it the Bridgnorth report posted above where Blackies were making £114?😲

Hexham mart graced by your presence? I wondered why they put that red carpet down about then. They must have been very cheap. My neighbour usually buys the ordinary cheap ones, runs them on a month or so,then takes them up to Longtown.

All the way too Hexham for 27 feeding ewes. I couldn’t touch lambs that day! Did much better over the border the week after. 😁

I like Hexham, grand set up, good stock. Get on well with Drew, bit of a sod for taking you but name me a good auctioneer who isn’t...

I just can’t afford the sheep in there! 😉

Happy enough with the trade at Melton yesterday. All three heifers between 12 and 13.5 months so can't complain at all. Bulls in general would be 5/6p back but everything a very good trade really. Heifers were some I posted a while back wondering whether to sell store or not. Ended up keeping the feeders filled up.

Would they be bought for further feeding or straight to kill?
