New farm, the journey begins!

Location
Suffolk
A darn fine circuit that, not a bad part of the world down here.

Suffolk is lower rainfall correct? But has irrigation?

Cheers, Ant
Yes, Certain places have irrigation. Particularly those on the more sandy soil. I'm on heavy clay which grows good wheat and has water 2.0m down all year. Average rainfall is 624mm or 24". We're starting to experience a 'wet' though.
Selling a farm with a good modern irrigation system in place seems to be the way forward if the land needs it.

What a day.
Unloaded 2 sheds, 1 at each site which was bonus.
Gravel started for second site
Builder showed up, contractor showed to drill footings, hit rock, had to cancel conc and get an excavator in. Managed to get all done tonight. Pour tomorrow.

Also had things to do for work tomorrow.

Im stuffed.

Ive been flat out since Sept last year.

Id die for my 4 months off.

what are the snow loading ratings?  telesnaag
Pretty slim id suggest! Wind is really the only drama here, and it has a few extras my old one didnt (same design same company) and that shed went through some harsh winds in Portland.

The footings on paper was 6 cubes and we used 8.8 cubes, so its anchored well.

4 days left they reckon so Thursday nite might be parking gear in it.

Started hay shed pad today, be lost without the lazer level. Have to knock this in and roll tomorrow, i reckon the shed builders will be down here on thursday.

And a new seat for molly, an ebay special, which seems alright.

Pad done enough to build.

Next question, what gravel is best to sit hay on? So stones dont get in bales?

Im thinking i will have to hire roller or work out way to pack in tight?

Also the renter cows seem happy.

My shed had 1 cube per upright and I don't think it is as big as yours, nor is it in a particularly windy spot.
I think if it is ever windy enough to move my shed it will have to take the county with it.

They say a fine line with footings, make to big and can sink and end up unlevel.

1 cube per footing is alot!!! Was that spec or engineered?

Theres more conc in this than portland, and if that shed never blew away, this one certainly wont.

Start hay shed thursday morning hopefully.

Fencing contractor coming friday to fence of hay shed and cattle yards.

Best crush, parralell squeeze???

Best loading ramp, must have side walks, i like thompson longhorn single deck ramp.
