Beet yields 2020

At least there will be more of a chance to have an early lift. I don’t think Bury St Eds opened until almost double digits of October last year? Apparently test digs are showing low sugars unsurprisingly which isn’t good and factory early opening is likely partly driven by lack of sugar stocks?
British Sugar apparently refusing to budge on the £25t offer they put out without consulting with the NFU.

As @Flat 10 said apparently test digs are around the 5 year average at the minute but low sugars so I guess we'll be paying to haul a lot of bulk to the factory's for a poor adjusted tonnage

I wonder how contact negotiations are going???????
I know you love to shout me down that any improvement is not enough, but won't our delivered and adjusted tonnages be closer together this year? As a result of 6.6% crown tare going and the adjusted sugar scale which gives us more for lower sugars? I know its not much but should help to ease the pain?

Good point but will the tare allowance and new sugar scale make up the difference if sugars are only 14 or 15% when traditionally 17 has been the norm.🤷

Surely you could find VY in every field somewhere? The insurance question is just a simple Yes or No..........

It is a yes or no.
But it also wants proof as well. Not just on your say so, so to speak. Don't need to give them an excuse of a get out.

Who has quota equivalent to 100 t/ha? We have quota more like 70 t/ha. Big beet year, C beet worthless so although I’m pleased with this years crop I’m not getting over excited.
