Can still hear the machine. I guess you lot have just got damaged hearing and now have lungs full of soil and wheat dust

If you don't want dust in the cab you open the door also , therefore the pressure keeps dust out , as @Goweresque stated it;s primarily for the preservation of your machines

I imagine the back window open brigade have very mucky windows (hence why it’s open) dusty dirty cab with many tools and bits on the floor!

Modern tractors so keep them shut and clean inside. Pet hate was an old workman here that always opened the back window. I was chuffed to bits when i could retire him .

Yep. Had no choice in the older tractors as no air conditioning. But glad not to have acres of soil in me nose. Changed the radio in the cab, soil was everywhere.

You can still hear the machinery but slightly muted - which actually helps sort out the noise from the real problems.

Not good for Asthma having dust in the cab . All those fine particles you can’t see.
Does you’re combine have no cab on it.
