When kids are taught by people who cannot drive themselves then that is the result you get.Incredible how harsh the Covid rules in NZ are and yet nothing seems to be done about the death toll on the roads......

Yeah, but have you seen the roads and traffic volumes in the UK? Nearly impossible to have a fatal RTA on the M25!!!According to NZ statistics it stands at 7.7 per 100,000 per year, albeit down from 21.4 in 1990. It's not like NZ is a 3rd world country or something.
The EU average is 5.05.
The UK is 2.7
Thanks for the insult by the way.

If you take speed, alcohol and electric puha out of the numbers it would be a lot lower!!!When kids are taught by people who cannot drive themselves then that is the result you get.
Just don't drive like a Jafa or bogan....When kids are taught by people who cannot drive themselves then that is the result you get.
I do quite a bit of driving in both countries. the biggest difference is the quality of the roads and driving behavior of young driversYeah, but have you seen the roads and traffic volumes in the UK? Nearly impossible to have a fatal RTA on the M25!!!
I doubt I could be accused of excessive speed...., that said the quality of roading is s**t locally and has deteriorated especially in the last 6 -18 months.I do quite a bit of driving in both countries. the biggest difference is the quality of the roads and driving behavior of young drivers
They did - lowered the drinking ageIncredible how harsh the Covid rules in NZ are and yet nothing seems to be done about the death toll on the roads......
If you taught basic road rules and traffic flows, plus get some real fines in place for overtaking on double yellow lines and blind corners it would be lower still. If you take speed, alcohol and electric puha out of the numbers it would be a lot lower!!!
Yes lowered it from 20 years down to 18 years to stop the 16 year olds from going to the pub. They did - lowered the drinking age
I think the massive insurance costs in the UK lead to more responsible younger drivers, as a demographic.Yes lowered it from 20 years down to 18 years to stop the 16 year olds from going to the pub.
It wouldn't be difficult to be a safer driver than myself as a teen.I think the massive insurance costs in the UK lead to more responsible younger drivers, as a demographic.
The only road surface where the crossply's were any good was gravel....After saying that, I've been in the local VFB for 5 years and never attended a single MVA with a kiwi or novice driver at the helm - all tourists
basically they get off the plane, into a rental and crash on the first gravel road they come to - unfortunately that's generally in our fire district
Having put 3 kids through a driving test the standard of the examiners was appalling, 2 of them failed for hesitating at a junction, took me 3 months to stop them pulling out in front of cars.I think the massive insurance costs in the UK lead to more responsible younger drivers, as a demographic.
Actually, it's driving huge rates of uninsured younger drivers these days....I think the massive insurance costs in the UK lead to more responsible younger drivers, as a demographic.
I expect the insurance is cripplingly expensive, my insurance when I started driving was as much as my car, nearly 20 years ago. Not looking foward to my kids driving but they won't survive without.Actually, it's driving huge rates of uninsured younger drivers these days....
It's estimate that around 20% of UK drivers are now uninsured.
Back when I took my car test in England, hesitating and not making progress when situations allowed it were the most popular fail points according to my instructor.Having put 3 kids through a driving test the standard of the examiners was appalling, 2 of them failed for hesitating at a junction, took me 3 months to stop them pulling out in front of cars.
I'm just thankful there's a big enough gap between you and Dave. You won't like my driving, too many Sundays burning avgas
we may just swap paint one day!
