1000ha done since Wednesday. Looks like a lot of rain on the forecast. Pre ems should work well like last year. The 40mm last Sunday was a good kick up the arse.

Interested in the logistics of this. Have you kept the drills running round the clock with night shifts?

No night shift but each drill also has a person providing logistics, I keep one going and there’s a couple different people who have helped out to keep the other going.
i bought this to keep a drill going but mainly for the big fert spreader In the spring. 50/50 split hopper, very useful and much safer. (And much cheaper than you would think)

What do you have pulling the Avatar up clay slopes? What sort of forward speed do you have with each drill and how is depth control and coulter pressure across that width of drill? Has the huge straw residue this year caused any problems?

Impressively efficient set up to be fair to you!

We missed all that rain a few days ago in North Suffolk.

The avatar is on a puma 240 but it’s not really enough for some of our hills. Depth control good.
we tend to run both drill about 8-12k.
straw has been abit of an issue with the sprinter but nothing to do bad, been doing headlands first otherwise you risk dragging residue and dropping it when you lift out making the last headland round a nightmare.

Third time lucky I’m hoping for one block of mine. Drilled it twice with OSR, both times failed due to CSFB, so drilled with some winter barley off the heap this afternoon.

I wanted to drill everything ‘naked’ but tests have shown high disease levels so u fortunately have used and SPD.

Also drilling into very poorly chopped linseed straw.
Bairstow, 130 kg/ha, TGW 42. Slug pellets and some Avadex round the headland.

Is that linseed straw not wrapping around any discs you have on your drills @Fish @EddieB and nackering the seals on the bearings? I don't like balers/baling but I always want my linseed straw baled or burnt and i'm cultivating.....
