Ford 3000

Hello
What category would a ford 3000 be in , classic ?

.
I own a 2 frw ts59 on yl s ...

Haven't seen it yet and not a expert on the model i gather it could be a pre force or a ford force ?? I'll try to get it year presuming i go to view.
Only a possible purchase atm but hopefully falls in the good investment category, obviously that's linked to purchase price

it would be a bit harsh for me ta say that

....but yes, tcn would be the choice but to get started go with what you have

Yes Ford 3000 is classic, so TCN would be a good choice, however go enjoy the job on YL to start with, and if anything, spend time sorting discs n skimmers out, and anything else that needs doing, all along looking for some TCN bodies for a later date, then swap bodies when you get some,
In the mean time, just enjoy it and learn from it

So not cut off for classic class ie too modern.

Currently use my mf 65 mk1 vintage .

Not decided to buy the 3000 but may go look wich probably fatal
Presumably generally a ok tractor? Cant honestly say ive had much to do with that model

I like my 65
I own a s dexta but probably not the nicest to use , gear change

im tall and big feet.

Yes, there is a cut off to be too modern, its pre Q cab 1976...

MK 1 65 would go in the Vintage class where your YL bodies would be the ones to use. The downside would be it is probably too heavy for transport on a trailer.

A tractor with a Q cab would be allowed in the Classic class provided that ita model was in production before 31st December 1976

my outfit weighs 2.300 ....so no probs on an ifor

2.300 mk1 65 ..ts59 on local weigh bridge........ so a 1ton ifor still leaves a bit of scope for weights ect... i took mine to local weigh bridge when i changed to 7.5 ton wagon

The rule for this changed last year, the q cab bit has been removed and is now in production before 31st Dec 76.

Yes, I guess it needed to be as rightly pointed out, some Q cabs were in production on tractors before the end of '76. Its a bit strange we don't see so many in the classic class as some of them weren't bad cabs to be, unlike the rattle boxes that went before them...

Not much heavier than mine, I'm 2120kg with my 35 and TS54. My farther in law's ford 3000 on 32" wheels with a TS86 is bang on the limit with his 14' IW. You do wonder how many run overweight, I saw a tri-axle complete with a big Nuffield (10/60?) and a Ransome reversable (TS81?), god knows how much that lot ways...

Think my 35 and ts59 is 2180kg from memory!
