It's more a problem of what the NFU Council wish for. They seem to control what happens regardless of what the county chairs or even the vice presidents think. Frankly the whole thing is embarrassing for farming. We are all tainted by this.

No doubt Red Tractor will spin this nicely though.
How does the nfu council control channel four dispatches exposure of the chicken industry?

Guthrie hadn't quite got this right.
I refused to run heavily in calf cows through the handling system. So she could read the tag numbers .
Inspector changed the time if arrival 3 times on the day .
Inspector asked my OH to upload everything onto the portal on the Tuesday previous which OH did . When she eventually arrived she admitted she had forgotten to look it up . I could go on but I won't waste my time now .
She burst into tears because my OH asked what a certain question had to do with the welfare of cattle and she, said " I don't know I'm just told to ask the question " and then the tears started .

The Gov have the current welfare laws etc that are enforced by trading standards/ Animal health officers/ vets etc.

If the Gov want higher welfare for animals then they need to start with banning the imports of meat from country's with far worse animal welfare standards than the UK.
They won't though as it keeps food costs down. The entire Government was three line whipped to vote against the Parrish Amendment in the Agriculture Bill which sought to do exactly this

Gov and Nut Nuts have already signalled their agenda to bring in more welfare reforms on UK Ag

Seems to me that HFD did what I should have done to the little hitler who turned up here a couple of years ago.

he rung me to come last year and wasn’t best pleased when I said he was banned as his attitude stunk.
Nothing wrong in asking them to leave if you are not happy with their conduct.

But to start on them as soon as they have got out of the car/ bully them and make them cry for no reason like HFD cattle did is not acceptable.

And for him to then say: She did not check anything but because i kicked off and bullied her and refused to co-operate with the inspection they passed me anyway ( which i find very hard to believe they did pass him in this situation ) shows that it can be very hard to enforce/ ensure that members are farming the the scheme standards/ rules when the inspectors are treated like that for no good reason!

They don't, but they seem to give unconditional support to Red Tractor.
Is that what the story on dispatches is about tonight.

If it is, that's good as I am sure the public will turn off.

If its about how bad UK agriculture is then the public may turn off eating meat even more!

HFD cattle's story is full of holes, when pulled up on his behaviour he then started to change his version of events to make himself look better/ justify his actions!

I have never heard of any RT inspector wanting cattle put thru a crush to read the tags! ( and i hear of plenty of things farmers are not happy about at their inspections )

You have obviously been on the NFU training course of distraction techniques to change the subject. You will go far at this rate (y)

Gosh. You’ve obviously got a grudge against HFD . No one like a tell tale tit
Not at all.

What concerns me is that he he thinks it was totally fine to bully the inspector like this and more importantly the claim he made that they passed his inspection even thou he prevented the inspector from carrying out the inspection.

Which if what he says is true ref being passed then it opens a big can of worms for RT in that the inspections are not being carried out correctly yet they are still passing the farms!
