They will avoid hearings or any oral arguments like the plague. All they do is delay and postpone until any sane man will give up.....they rely on wearing you down.
The only way is to get it outside of Defra for consideration otherwise you get a whitewashed written decision. Just don’t let it overcome you, if you have a real case keep believing in yourself but you need mp’s and the ombudsman or you need to get it into “court.” Or all of them, asking questions.
Even then you got to be very very stubborn and believe in “ IF” by Rudgard Kipling.

Ombudsman won’t touch it till it’s been to IAAP hearing, got in touch with them over a year ago !.

Feel for you having had a similiar "argument" with RPA after a less that honest Inspector's visit.... I took the 7K hit

It is why I have regretfully not agreed to sign up the rolling 12 month CS Agreement that was offered.

God Love NE. The dear old RPA sent me a letter yesterday, telling me that following an assessment of my soon to expire Agreement, NE has decided it does not meet the criteria for an extension. This is some 2 months after I declined their offer to roll over the Agreement.

A whiff of sour grapes I feel!! :ROFLMAO:

Have a love/hate view of this saga. I love that they can be challenged but I hate to think how many civil servants have to be employed responding to challenges. It costs you and me in the end. Can these schemes not be made more straightforward at the outset? I think death by a thousand cuts would be more attractive than going through what you're going through.

update !.
Finally have a date for a face to face hearing !.
Wonder if I should tell them what I know that they definitely appear not too, and have there paperwork to back it up !.
Well, in a Court, both sides have to have make disclosure... allegedly.

But this is not a Court. Keep your powder dry @Hesston4860s and let rip on the day...

... and keep us all posted :)

Pleased for you....if you can get oral hearing you can get some form of discussion rather than opaque whitewash.
I would keep your powder dry and stay totally focussed on your trump card because they will use any and every means possible to deflect your purpose.
