There are plenty of knives out for him and plenty of replacements waiting in the wings but I don't think any of them want to take the job YET.

There will be plenty that step forward to fill the vacancy, most of which will just be wanting that ‘top job’ to add to their CV.
Someone that is ‘moderate’ and comes across as more honest will help restore the Conservative’s popularity with the electorate, but would be likely to garner support from the lunatic right in the party.
But the conservative party has always been successful due to how well the party 'machine' does politics. I can well imagine that arrangement's will be being made for his replacement but for the sake of the party, he will be left to reap all he has sown and then replaced at a more opportune time when Covid etc. seems to be under control. They will want a honeymoon period to cover the next election.
