I agree it's a problem. Met an ex department worker on Sat morning and his words were 'For the first time in my life I have nobody to vote for'
I said the exact same yesterday, who is there to vote for

A performing chimp would manage just as well. But who do you replace him with?
You’ve already got one of those as PM.A performing chimp would manage just as well.
Can't say it doesn't matter, because it does, but... if Ag makes its case and publicly embarrasses Government, that government now can and will change.Well I have to admit that if national agricultural policy is anything to go by, taking back control has been a hell of a let down. It could be so much better but the opportunity has been fudged up so badly it’s difficult to see how they could be making a worse job of it.

You mean the bonfire of red tape is just around the corner?

To answer in what you would probably call an 'honest' way would mean having to accept the premise of the question, which I don't.I have a question I'd like to see if you will answer it honestly.
UK, UN & IPCC Climate Change policy has helped created this Natural Gas crysis.
Just had my electric renewal contract through.
In Contract electric is going to rise 300% making the farm house only bill well over ÂŁ4,000
Out of Contract electric STANDING CHARGE is ÂŁ1.50 a day. That's about ÂŁ547.00 a year if you use no electric. I know there are MILLIONS of people in the UK who are out of contract, many probably the most vulnerable in society.
What do you think is going to happen to the Conservative Party as a result ?
If he manages to hang on by his finger tips until May then the local elections will be his leaving moment, for the Tories to have any hope of surviving it would be better if he went sooner, Johnson is now for the Tories what Corbyn was for Labour, both ended up unelectable! To answer in what you would probably call an 'honest' way would mean having to accept the premise of the question, which I don't.
The overwhelming factors regarding the increase in gas price are that there has been less than a third of the usual wind power supplied recently, Germany is buying up far more than previously - to compensate for nuclear shut-down - and Russia and reduced supply. No argument that a 75% reduction in coal use over the last decade or so has made a difference as well.
Having set that straight, my guess is that the Conservatives will take a hit in the next election for several reasons, and one of those will be power prices. And they'll also get blamed for anything else that people can think of whether it's their fault or not, because they are in government.
But I think it unlikely that they'll lose power, the alternatives are worse and most people think that; a better question would be: what is going to happen to Boris Johnson as a result...?
Well, I know he is getting a lot of internal complaints, from both the Parliamentary and Constituency wings of the party. It isn't a particularly easy or helpful thing to bin a sitting PM, but it will be done if he doesn't change course on several matters, this is now fact. So that begs the questions of will he change or go and, if he goes, who comes in...?
I disagree, don't misunderstand me, I'll not shed any tears for him, and he's done what he was chosen to do - more or less. But Boris has a record of electoral success overall, and if he can make a couple of by-elections go his way - or the local ones in surprise areas - he may well stay.If he manages to hang on by his finger tips until May then the local elections will be his leaving moment, for the Tories to have any hope of surviving it would be better if he went sooner, Johnson is now for the Tories what Corbyn was for Labour, both ended up unelectable!
Sunak looks like a weird Asian version of Gordon Brown in that!

May I commend you on this post. Nailed it. Wonders will never cease..…You've missed out quite a few points.
1) IPCC, UN & UK policy has been to stop fossil fuel exploration. Some UK companies have stopped developing UK oil and gas fields. All promoted by UK government MPs and Media.
2) Two UK Nuclear power stations will be decomissioned soon.
3) UK gas heating alone is 2x the total Electricity supply.
4) Gas central heating is circa 80% to 90% efficient at the home.
5) Gas power stations generating electricity are circa 50% to 60% efficient. 8.5% of all Electricity energy is lost in the National Grid.
6) UK gas heating will be banned in 2025.
7) Conservatives privatised the UK Gas industry.
8) Conservatives destroyed UK backup Gas reserves.
To replace just UK heating from Gas to Electric will require around 3x to 4x more electric generation. So that's 4x to 5x todays current electricity supply.
On top of this further electric is required to replace fossil fuel transport.
Where is the Conservative Energy Policy to do this ? It's not surprising that costs are increasing because there is simply a lack of resources which has been created by UN, IPCC & the Conservative Party.
I fail to understand why you even mention Wind. Wind can stop or start moment to moment. Having backup power is just part of operating Wind Power. There is no such thing as being able to blame the "Lack of Wind" because the alternative should have been planned for at all times - which is what experts told the Conservatives for decades - which also is one of the reasons why Electricity costs are increasing because some of this energy is created using Fossil Fuel Generators in Container Parks.
Nope.
Nope.
Energy Policy is just one department which has epically failed.
Immigration, Border Control, Foreign Policy, Afghanistan, Foreign Aid, Triple Locked Pensions, Northern Ireland abandoned by the Conservatives to the EU, Fishing abandoned to the EU .. of course for us Rewilding and Agricultural Policy.
The Conservatives are a complete mess.
