Well if we all went deadweight cattle and sheep would end up worth as much as pigs currently are.Which system does everyone believe is the most trustworthy system?
Horses for courses we use both depending on time of year stock type etc.Which system does everyone believe is the most trustworthy system?
are you sure of that ? or is it just a common or popular thought not based on the factual modern day ? aamoi Deadweight is by far the most prominent in Australasia and they have very efficient systems in place for meat processing. We need both to keep each other in check
if stock are fit to kill they should go , and how much does it cost to reload and take them home again plus all that time in the market . how much do you value your time ?At least in the auction you can take them home.
Now you mean do away with competition?I'm talking about a proper , joined up modern, efficient system , one trip for stock etc.
seeing as were up against it with peoples attitude towards livestock production anyway.
We do use both but 80% goes through the auction market, if we don't continue to use them they will close & we will then be left at the mercy of a few buyers who will definitely take advantage of their position.Probably evens itself out, but definitely need both options to keep either of them remotely honest!
