maybe else where in the thread ,

just seen this in the FT

George Eustice, environment secretary, said: “We disagree with many of the points made by the committee which fail to take account of recent developments. “Farm incomes have improved significantly since the UK voted to leave the EU in 2016 and there will never be a better time to improve the way we reward farmers.”

so they are taking credit for post covid shortage increasing pricing , what happens when we are back to normal ? you nob !
Is he bloody stupid or just deluded?? Fecking useless idiot.

I would venture to disagree that the "average Medium Farm" Profit is £22k / annum also...

Take my sub away & id pretty much say id make a profit 2 years out of 10 if iam lucky & thats pretty much down all too the worlds weather nowt we do year in year out.
This Financial year deffo being one of them & dont think ive not had this since 2008 looking at accounts here.
we wont be here much longer unless of course unless i pay next too no Rent then its a diff job totally. there is plenty no diff to me lots of neighbours & beyond all in same boat
Keep the sub & i'll make 6 out of 10 years a profit having something to reinvest also.
All the SUB as we all know gets spent on inputs or rent or finance we dont bank it away in some off shore account (As if)

Well, I have just emailed my MP with my thoughts on this. Probably a complete waste of time and effort, but I bet most in Westminster have not got a clue what is going on (and probably don't care) but maybe if we all bombard our MP's with letters/emails, it might just make them sit up and take notice - very much doubt it, but it made me feel better!!! :ROFLMAO:

So it says here—-
“”The Department asserts that environmental benefits can be delivered
alongside improvements in farm productivity, and that these improvementswill
mean that, despite taking land out of production to deliver environmental benefits,
farmers can produce more food from the remaining land.””

How can farmers produce more food if land is taken out of production for the scheme

if we could produce more food do you not think we’d be doing so on all our land already

especially when you factor in the price of fertilizer and increase in sprays and other units and the crazy manure rules

there will be vastly reduced food production
There will be empty shelves
For sure

once you have to rely on importing your food market forces will push the price up
“You want this ( insert am abroad place) bread sending over to your little island Mr English ?? It’ll be £10 a loaf please “”

Knowing how much of our energy supply infrastructure, or London buildings etc are owned by foreign companies….it might well end up that foreign investors buy up the UK land and farms, and then we can’t even avoid imports by producing ourselves, because our food production has been sold off to foreign owners.

Probably already halfway there in terms of the food factories ownership!

Great minds! I started mine with a rant about the Downing street parties and the sacrifices the rest of us made but I got round to this. Everyone else get typing.
