Academics tell us that planting trees and releasing beavers will save the world.... so because an academic has said it then it must be true....

Don’t confuse nouns and adjectives.
I’ve read them all. Nowhere have I seen that. Your turn to read it or at least give us a name.
Who is the academic then? Then read them all again. They make the point repeatedly.
I don''t have to do it for you, same as you don't have to reply to my request that you back up your claim that my facts about McDonalds are inaccurate.

An “academic” says something which your in agreement with and it’s therefore true.
Farmers with their boots on the ground and heads in reality don’t necessarily agree with you, so are called muppets.
Care to reflect?
Who is the academic then?
Me, possibly.Who is the academic then?
If academics are not capable of understanding practicalities then that calls into validity to any "experiment". Does the "academic" have relevant qualifications and experience to validate that the OP was an adequate set-up for a social experiment? The academic wasn't commenting on practical matters. They were commenting on the validity of the OP as a social experiment.
You do realise that this is a discussion on an Internet forum and not a piece of research intended for publication, don't you?If academics are not capable of understanding practicalities then that calls into validity to any "experiment". A proper social experiment will take into a wide range of factors and outcomes and would require a comprehensive review of the data produced.
I'm not the one calling it a "social experiment" that has been "validated by an academic". I'm merely pointing out that it is a poorly done thing. You do realise that this is a discussion on an Internet forum and not a piece of research intended for publication, don't you?
I've done lots of informal experiments over the years (not castrating my ram lambs to see how it affected sales, for example).
Well, given that I think that I'm the academic in question, thought I should qualify that.I'm not the one calling it a "social experiment" that has been "validated by an academic". I'm merely pointing out that it is a poorly done thing.
It was only a joke sir, sorryDon’t confuse nouns and adjectives.
I don’t really see how it can be classed as a social experiment when you get insulted for expressing your opinion. Seems like another opportunity for someone to get on their soapbox again.
I’ve never said I’m concerned about vegans. People are free to eat what they like. I enjoy vegan food (or fruit, vegetables etc as I prefer to call it), usually accompanied with meat or dairy. I simply said my preferred choice was somewhere that gave me an option. The biggest issue isn’t peoples dietary choice but how big corporations are involved & pushing the vegan diet (usually through lies & twisted facts). Simply to line their own pockets. How is it any different than the meat industry cartels?
You what?Yes but McDonald's is being reactive to potential demand from people who have been brainwashed by the vegan propaganda whereas the vegan cafe is part of a system promoting that propaganda, so we shouldn't support it

Your massive IQ is clearly wasted trying to educate us simpletons, have you considered appearing on Only Connect?I have just had a quick read of what a 'social experiment' is, I stopped before disappearing down an academic wormhole but I also picked up on 'social psychology'. Yup. It had you McMuppets down to a tee.
My OP was word perfect. As said before, I don't just throw this sh!t together.
