Disagree. 'You boys' on AHAs are in a better position than FBT holders, mortgage repayers and bought 'n' paid for occupiers who value the cost of their capital correctly. Cash flow only tells part of the story.
plenty in this position live way diff lives to us who aint tho.
There in lies most of the trouble.
buy or not to buy is the Q soon (Fert i mean)

To pre invasion prices..... £230.00?

£100 drop .

With that in mind anyone tempted by Nov 23 futures price? Been going up too in the past week. Currently £278

Could be a great price in 18 months time if grain and fert were to fall back to normal range.
If they don’t it’s no good at all though:unsure:
If drought conditions continue this summer then that may be the time to do some for then.

Might be an idea to do a little bit, I have never sold 2 harvests in advance, but I have never farmed in such volatile times.

Ask yourselves can those other countries around the world grow
food cheap anymore, inflation is a global problem not just a UK one .
Our biggest threat is a government that will import food from nearly any destination
whilst simultaneously doing away with equal standards or requirements.
So basically our current government then... 🤦

Our own government are probably our biggest threat.

The ’equal standards’ for food between the EU and U.K. that were supposed to be implemented by the U.K. in July (EU implemented them 12 months ago on anything we export) have been cancelled completely now for imports.

Rees-Mogg now saying that if we are not enforcing any standards on imported food from the EU then to be consistent we shouldn’t have any checks on any food products from the rest of the world.

Meanwhile we have to comply with various standards/regs that very few countries could match if we want to sell stuff in our own country.

Crazy, crazy situation. Feels like the government will do ANYTHING to try and keep the cost of food down, and this would be absolutely the last roll of the dice. We are about to become the dustbin of the world

I have to agree, I hope with far higher food inflation and shortages just around the corner they alter their attitude or perhaps they think its ok for a rich country like ours to import food from other parts of the world where the population there go hungry.
