Blair had agreed in a meeting in Brussels to get rid of millions of sheep and cattle the year before coincidentally, no one knew at the time how he was going to do it

To be fair, he was acting on the information he'd been given by incompetent scientists. The one 'expert' was predicting BSE would kill half the population and another group had found that the sheep's brains they'd been looking at were full of BSE prions, showing it had jumped the species barrier.

The first was using models that have clearly been incredibly inaccurate, and the second lot of numpties nearly culled the entire UK sheep flock because they'd made a mistake, and actually been looking at the brains of cattle that had died of BSE.
Apparently that cull came VERY close to happening on the back of that 'data'.

Clean still £4.40 at Macintosh. Doesn't seem to be moving at the moment :(
A pause for breath I think. There will be consumer resistance until chicken and pork jump again at retail level, which it will, then beef will look better value again. There’s nothing cheap to import to replace it especially with the pound dropping.

TBF the Snowie family had been heavily involved in all sorts of waste management long before FM. They were just a farming family that started out doing a bit of opencast reclamation, then got into sewage sludge etc.

They just had the balls and inclination to go after a contract that not many other companies were interested in. The kit would all be be part financed by the gov.

Sadly the money did the family no favours at all. One brother died last year in his early fifties, and the rest of the family have had various difficulties.
They used to have a big stand at the highland show.

If they don’t make a big thing about something then they risk having their work and funding sidelined or cut when things are being streamlined… job justification and all that…
