I'm starting to see the FA issue as a sort of farming picket line. "this is the stick we are going to be beating you with next year"I will not have a carbon audit without being paid handsomely for it.
I suggest everyone else does likewise.

Have you sold anymore carbon this year @Clive?AIC (retailer funded) will be trying everything they can to get Red Tractor to make Carbon part of assurance because retailers and processors want FARMERS carbon so they can offset their footprint
this is basically a robbery in progress as carbon has value (agree with that or not does not mater, fact is its yours and it does have value)
our farming unions seem to be on retail and processors side insisting were have obligations to be nett zero businesses - there is no such requirement (yet)
best thing we can ALL do is quantify and sell it ourselves so a market exists outside the food chain setting a proper value

Why won't everyone just leave rt
How much would a carbon audit cost per farm or Ha.?
All these firms and calculations are debatable from what we gather anyhow?
Have been looking into having an audit. Has to be an accredited person carrying out but different organisations seem to use differing basis for their results.
Found one instance on line where an audit calculations were based on field map area's , but did not include carbon capture from hedgerows, which this person had miles. Does a sq. m of hedge not capture more carbon than grass.
Do they include carbon generated by farm transport? On farm, between units, stock to market?
Green Road. used occasionaly by vechicle, mostly grass, seems favoured grazing by sheep. Is carbon captured by that area included although excluded from single farm payment?
I usually use SAC but not convinced will have value for costs.
Final question, Why is Carbon offsetting allowed to be transferred outwith the area where it is absorbed/produced? I.E. Carbon absorbed by plants in one County, offsetting carbon pollution by a plane flying to America.
It appears that any one owning land with vegetation may make a little money, but if you sell a crop produced by that land, you will be taxed on it
E. I love asking stupid questions.
Makes sense, just haven’t heard much from you about it this year, wasn’t sure if you’d signed into a multi year scheme.yes of course, why wouldn't I ?
Its almost like asking if i'm going to bother harvesting my wheat this year !
Lats years income is currently being spent on a big part of a 25kw solar and battery install which seemed appreciate !
Already told the two companies I supply that I will not be taking part in any carbon foot print audit they propose. I challenged one to show the one they had done for their own company. They assured may that they had done one for the supermarkets they supplied but were not willing to share it with me.AIC (retailer funded) will be trying everything they can to get Red Tractor to make Carbon part of assurance because retailers and processors want FARMERS carbon so they can offset their footprint
