I thought last nights program was the biggest load of tosh yet. And that's saying something.
How the hell can air travel be good, and producing food bad. Dimbleby standing next to a crate of carrots, telling us this is destroying the planet. As for " biodiversity ", I wonder how much " biodiversity " there is on American / Australian / Ukrainian prairies ?. Or on rain forest cleared to produce soya ? This is where our food is going to come from in future if the likes of the BBC have their way. This tiny Island is expected to " Rewild ", whilst the rest of the world carries on prairie farming.
Give me strength.
Amused me seeing Adam "taming" his Suffolk Punch filly in the catching pen. There was a foal sized bend in the parting gate in the corner . Maybe take 2 on the filming ..............

I thought exactly the same, should of caught the foal with the mare in the pen, he’s no hosler!! Should stick to wearing his brown jacket an talking shît on the podium, blurting out the party line for 5k a time! I only flick it on to see what farming is going on, not to listen to him or the rest of the luvvy wokey shît

It's a splendid brown coat. I'm puzzled why a 4 month old foal isn't inquisitive and playing hunt the polo mint or asking for a scratch by the ear, but that's only going by my experience of my pony's foal umpty years ago. How do Suffolk Punches tick, and are draught breeds in general different in their temperament when young?

I did not see the programme but Suffolk's are very quiet like all draught breeds. My grandad thought they were the best as although a bit smaller they have huge amount of stamina.

Don't know about Suffolk punches (though I know someone who does) but some of my newly weaned Highland foals can be a bit feisty. One came rushing out of the field shelter, into the round pen, hit the new (strainer) post in the middle and snapped it at ground level. Thereafter, he blamed me! A few weeks later, with almost daily handling, and the behaviour was completely reversed. Another tried to jump a five foot steel gate to the above field shelter, got caught by a hind leg when half way over and hung there. I released the foal but needed to drive the Land Rover over the gate to straighten it. Next day the foal wasn't even limping! Frankly, at that age they wouldn't know what a Polo mint is and have to become hooked on carrots by starting them by grating them onto soaked sugar beet. Best first handled by someone with lots of time and in an enclosed loose box, but life isn't perfect.

Probably because he's been leathering f**k out of it with a yard of truth!
