Boris yesterday, declared to the world, that Britain isn’t remotely a corrupt country. He’s right of course. But the current government is making a world beating job of changing that.

A lot of his constituents would disagree with that including plenty who are conservative leaning.
Can only speak as I have found. And that was at arms’ length and very positive. The TB blog was started in 2003 with Owen’s 500 parliamentary questions.

Given a problem, Owen is a rottweiler, and he will solve it.
Thinking a bit more about this and you may be right, although I’m still adamant that he was pretty useless as a constituency MP, I’m sure he did like the limelight of something high profile to make a name for himself and to that end may well have been a “Rottweiler “ given the right cause.

While phone banking using government offices may be wrong , but that is ridiculous compared to giving legal advice in said office when you are probably charging yourself out at several thousand pounds an hour.
You are right of course but you are setting a dangerous precedent when you ascribe to the idea that degree of transgression has to be judged. The rules are clear and the transgressors is wrong.

As phone banking is the process of sitting making repeated electioneering calls for hours on end, it is just as serious in that it is a person sitting at their place of work not working for their employer, the only difference between this and Geoffrey Cox is that he was getting paid a lot of money.

Are you know more than I, in my innocence I assumedit was checking your current account and making a couple of transfers, just to make sure there was enough on the card for a boozy trip to Gibraltar 😉

Did I read correctly that he was acting for a firm at the time, which was fighting against the very UK government that was providing his office?
Not sure about that, but certainly David Kwackinsky ( hope that is spelt right ) is our trade representative to Mongolia to promote trade between the two countries. At the same time he is being paid by Entrum an American company to promote it where they are directly competing against British interests

Daniel Kawczynski is currently under investigation by the Parliamentary standards commissioner.

Owen Paterson, the arch brexiteer and upholder of moral values, is taking the UK govt to the EU court of human rights over being found out. You couldn't make it up!

Indeed the hypocrisy and flagrant disregard for previous statements and political positions taken is beyond belief. No doubt he will be challenged on this point and will have some cock and bull story as to why the circumstances are 'unusual' and 'justified' Such spivs.
