As many of you will now know, I’ve now progressed to the role of Aftersales Manager at a main dealership.

Before I joined the company, they bought the dept I am working at during covid - I am looking to host an open day, to really showcase the takeover etc.

As farmers / visitors what is important to you to get from a dealer open day?

Anything in particular you’d like me to make happen?

Price ticket on every machine in the depot, reps that actually talk to all customers, not just there favourites, also sale[eople who know there product and they must have a copy of the stock list on them.

and most importantly of all

Hog roast with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling👍
What’s the love in with hog roasts. I hate the things . Usually the stuffing is like a paste and used to replace proper butter on the over dry bap.

do plenty of food
manufacturer reps there to answer any questions on machines you have
prices on machinery
put a deal on moisture meter calibration etc
possible 2 days to cover weather workloads etc
send out text or email reminders a few days before
possibly a local truck company there to offer brake tests on trailers etc not on the day but info available getting brakes on trailers right saves tractor brakes
maybe some info on new payment schemes

dont invite red tractor to have a stand or tilly trailer testing neither will accept helpful advise

I think the ripon open day at harrogate is the best one by far as good as any show i think there are reps there that can introduce you to the right manufacturer person so its not like walking on a stand at lamma and being ignored!! :)
