This!

Dont patronise the next gen as they're aren't interested in Grassmen Decals and all that shite.

Quite often it's decent to have the ear of someone who speaks to the boss as well as the boss.
Yes not running after them with stickers ,but often if Youngsters (12-18yrs etc) not happy with a colour or product it WON'T BE BOUGHT.
Remember often their the one's that will be using it soon enough too.

Doe show next week down here in sunny Essex.

I will probably go along and take the staff as the price is on virtually every machine and it makes my chaps appreciate that we can't have new kit all the time.

Prices on the machines are a saving grace there. Salesmen like hens teeth - admittedly there are usually lots of customers.

Very difficult to buy anything even if you wanted.

Discounts on the day too.

A tent full of old stock at bargain prices is very popular.
Doe Pages on here NOT UPDATED also for years???

It may be an age thing but I find I walk past the new 300hp tractors and shiny machines lined up at shows and blank them out as I'm past ever owning one. However, if the stall has a beautifully restored old model, as for instance our local CIH dealers did with a lovely Farmall a few years ago, I'll make a beeline for it and it gives an immediate talking point that many of us can relate to.

Is the open day for you to sell stuff? Especially the old tat that's been sat around for ages. Or a meet and great all customers old and new, large and small type of day.

I'm sure the OP has noted that down, get fully restored 7530 JD on the stand.

Scantily clad young ladies adorning the machinery
And young men for the ladies?
Having been to a few car dealerships I'm finding females far better at sales , answered all my questions politely without making me feal like I was not welcome
Alpha Males can be annoying
100% agree,
And DON'T forget to speak to the younger guests too!
These grow up quick, remember, and are CUSTOMERS of the future.
Exactly this, they may not pay the bills but they will tell the boss what they think

Tedders we looked at various brands and parts cost. One we did like time price was 3 times pottingers. So son decided he liked the pottinger and he shook hands. I also told him to call the others that quoted and say thanks but no thanks this time.
Son was 20 at the time, he did the deal not me.

I was given a bit of advise many years ago and have never forgotten it. If you want to strike up a conversation look at the tie they are wearing!! Granted it does not always work nowadays.!! It was when I worked for the NFU(Don't start!) and most people wore ties to meetings and gatherings. But it is always a friendly way of starting a conversation.
WB
No many wear ties nower days

Can't stress enough to follow up on promises from enquires made on the day. My son and I attended LAMMA this year, made genuine enquires with four different exhibitors about their products with an interest to buy, to date have only been contacted by one and have done a deal for an item with them. The other three obviously don't need my business and it would have been obvious to them that we were genuine/made an effort as we had got on a plane to get there to speak to them. The company that did get to back to me was on one of the smallest stands there.

Price ticket on every machine in the depot, reps that actually talk to all customers, not just there favourites, also sale[eople who know there product and they must have a copy of the stock list on them.

and most importantly of all

Hog roast with stuffing, apple sauce and crackling👍

Smaller the dealership the better the service on sales and workshop. I hate the big places with all glass and carpets, and staff just look down their noses at you.
I'd rather the boss in a boiler suit come out of the workshop if you need to speak to them.

Lots of car dealerships are now like this. Have a full blown cafe and childrens play/toy area- basically they know that the longer you are on the premises the more likely you are to make a purchase and you'll also spend more money on options because the product actually sells itself.
