Have 6 weeks from when you can destroy in 2nd year to hopefully drilling wheat - last year presumably like toast & you could bale up for bedding.
In a wet year topping off a 2ft high mass could leave a thick mat & long stubble under the tyre tracks.
What have people done

Ask in the other ab15 thread in the subsidies section. I was under the impression you could destroy it however you wanted

Few flowers appearing now. I assume its stuff that should be growing 🤷‍♂️

Not been topped yet, will see the topper this week to knock down any grasses.

Mine hasn’t been given the chance to flower due to my need to keep topping the BG. I have found that only the clover really comes back….
in yr 2 how do you do that with the nay 15th cut off ?

been considering an areas of this but i think it will lead to rye grass and broome hell here

ab6 / summer cover crop looks a better bet as a osr replacement ?

It does indeed lead to brome, ryegrass and blackgrass hell in yr 2...just don't do it in a winter arable rotation. kill it after yr 2.. cover crop it and grow a late crop like maize is about all that is effective after 6yrs worth of rotation IMHO..

Do Agreena issue carbon credits on AB15 @Clive ? A mate told me today that they don't anymore and he seemed really cross , like he had been ripped off for doing the right thing? It all seems very dodgy??

Best plan looks like baling up AB15 after yr 2 and selling it to Drax power station as fuel? That seems the most logical output and avoids all the weeds and solves the carbon credit and sustainability nonsense. we are near to Drax which keeps the diesil miles down aswell.. win win👍👍

i would leave that and chop down after flowering... fantastic stand of thick vetch there! enjoy the massive bee arrival when they come... knock a few grass patches out of course...

Not got to year 2 yet......
I'm hoping we will have killed the BG and the clover will stop anymore from growing/its all germinated.
There's a lot of hoping. I think it might work but huno is filling me with pessimism and its not half as good as Zippys currently.
