I have replied to one on BFF and the whole thread got deleted, tbh they did get ripped to shreds and rightly so. I like to think there aren't many as concerned about road safety than me but I don't think Tilly pass really helps much in this respect, as I've said all along I would prefer to see trailers go through a commercial workshop with a proper, loaded, rolling road brake test.

When it started on about 'lifting plant and equipment' I thought it was on about mobile cranes or something, not a fudging workshop trolley jack.

My old workshop gear; compressor & two jacks was inspected along with the County forwarder and Komatsu forklift.
The jacks were visually inspected first then pumped up to their highest and inspected and then let down and inspected. This was to see if they worked correctly and did not leak during the operation.
I was then covered to be insured for another year.
This all happened up until 2012 so I can’t say if things have changed in more than a decade.

We haven't done the 3 day course, the method statement or risk assessment though.But farmers aren’t trusted to do that for themselves
