Yes according to the RPA inspector who was here last week who will remain nameless at this stage.
He did hint that there would be legislation to put both requirements into law but no indication of when so for the time being crack on.

I think this is now the case. In all honesty I believe it will be important to not abuse this too much, an extra week or two either end I don’t see as a problem, cutting hedges in June and you’ll be strung up!
Yes, just got a couple of fields with turnips in that we won't finish grazing till March, dont need to trample them down with cutter in Feb now.

Also thinking about ipm2 flower rich grass margin, 2-3m against bottom of hedge including the old cross compliance stip wouldn't be that much of sacrifice for £798/ha

Cross Compliance has NOT ended in Wales

And for info, under SFS to be introduced hedges that are to be counted towards your 10% habitat must be:

- either 1.5m high x 2m wide OR 2m high x 1.5m wide
- and must be stock proof without any artificial fencing
- any hedge entered in to the scheme must meet the above criteria by 2030 regardless of when you enter the scheme

The loons are free, Maurice. Fire up the catch nets

Call it what you like but it's money that appears in my account for not doing anything ,apart from 30 mins filling a form in , I understand it may finish next year in Wales , so the Hedge Thing will carry on for now

No Derek it doesn’t finish next year.
You can opt to remain in BPS and for 2024 you will receive the full amount.
However from 2025, BPS is on an annual 20% taper until there are no payment in 2029

You can opt for SFS instead though … good luck

What does that mean stockproof without artificial fencing?
