Porridge was just a light hearted example while I was having some for breakfast was talking to an ex butcher who used to buy his lambs out of the auction. He does our home kill so asked him what a carcass was worth. He reckoned through the butchers shop he would treble its value. Doesn’t matter if they’re £200 to him he will retail it at £600 etc. I’m not worried about the price collapsing, it’s about time we had a good do!Groceries have doubled in the last 3 or 4 years, what we sell hasnt and folk still think we are selling it too dear
Possibly …..Need to be £200+ then to be equivalent now
In the bad times of feed wheat being around £80 odd a tonne which is not that long ago I was selling lambs for more than the wheat.Someone pointed put to me last night that this is the first time ever that a fat lamb is worth more than a tonne on wheat!!
