It was puerile, it was also funny. It's been some time since the Truss debacle but I think the most disturbing thing about her is the lack of a sense of humour.
She said on the being compared to a lettuce, "I don't think it's funny, I just think it's puerile".
How could this country ever be successfully governed by such po-facedness?
And now there is the news that Graham Brady has been for an 'informal chat' with Sunak...
No idea, but it is just possible...been counting letters 🫣
What? are the Polly Anna's worried that Frank Hester about to take his sack of beans to Reform? And now there is the news that Graham Brady has been for an 'informal chat' with Sunak...
No idea, but wouldn't surprise me; after all, we've seen what the mere threat of the Unions holding back funding from Labour. No reason the Tories should be any different in that regards. What? are the Polly Anna's worried that Frank Hester about to take his sack of beans to Reform?

Farage for PM I say.
Given your recent posts saying that you thought that turncoats like Anderson should face a by-election, would you agree that, should the Conservative members give us yet another PM, a General Election should be called immediately?
No, that would be inconsistent; and it's for precisely the same reason I argue that the MPs should stand again... i.e. that the constituencies return an MP who, unless independent, was the Labour, Tory etc. candidate. Whereas the choice of party leader is a purely internal affair for any party, and when that party is in government the leader will be PM.Given your recent posts saying that you thought that turncoats like Anderson should face a by-election, would you agree that, should the Conservative members give us yet another PM, a General Election should be called immediately?
they wouldn’t dare have yet another leadership battle…. Surely

While a majority of constituencies retain MPs of a given party there is no need for a General Election. However if now, say, there were 41 defections and then 41 by-elections resulted in a change from the governing party, meaning that the governing party ceased to have an overall majority, that would demand a General Election since the party would no longer have a mandate.
Bin FPTP for direct PR, and the possibility of these situations arising will be almost impossible.
Could he do any worse ? It would be getting a good team behind him that would be the problem, but looking at both main parties I'm not sure they have enough folk with brains to form a decent governmentFarage for PM I say.
Who will take over from Sir Graham when he leaves the HoC?And now there is the news that Graham Brady has been for an 'informal chat' with Sunak...
Yes of course, because it's the principle that we vote for candidate for a party that is the issue.Thank you. I guess we'll have to disagree on that.
Would you say the same if Starmer got in then, through Labour Party civil war, somebody like Corbyn took the reins?
Not sure how you mean that...Who will take over from Sir Graham when he leaves the HoC?
Yes of course, because it's the principle that we vote for candidate for a party that is the issue.
Of course I think Corbyn would be awful, but under the current system - which you know I loathe - the rules have to be applied in all cases.
And that's one reason why I want the whole electoral system changed; the only advantage to FPTP is that, generally but not always, it provides stable government, but this sole advantage is outweighed by so many disadvantages that its continued implementation can't be justified.
