To be fair nothing nose dives quicker than a new vehicle, by 10 year old a good chunk of the depreciation has happened. Newer vehicles seem to suffer just as many problems as older ones, if not worse in my experience.
what about the allowance against tax by purchasing a commercial? You wouldn’t...
I forgot say we already have a freelander 2 and a hilux double cab HL2 for farm use. The freelander isn’t much better for space than the hilux, boot space gets filled quickly with prams, bikes etc. and then no way could take a dog or anything else. It’s figured a nicer pick up would give a huge...
I’m looking at getting a double cab pickup but have 2 little ones. Does anyone else manage with a double cab? Needs isofix and Would need one with large cab space, I’m a tall guy and I’ve got lanky children! Would be on a budget around £8-10k. Any help appreciated
I’m looking to get a bale trailer strong enough to carry a 5t digger. Currently have a low loader but I want to get a livestock container, which won’t work with the ramps on the low loader. I’ve used a bale trailer before for moving a digger but it didn’t seem strong enough, was too high etc...
I’ve got a 60x45ft barn that could be used for hiring out during certain times of the year. It’s a modern barn, concrete panels, steel framed etc. so not very pretty but functional! Just curious if anyone else has experience in this area? It could be used for various events, short term storage...
I’ve got some fields that originally hadn’t planned on taking a cut so turned ewes in there, plans may have to change so looking at a later cut. It’s a very old ley so lots of stalky growth but very thin in between, would you top out the stalks before fert application? Not sure how much you can...
Yes the 535-95 I have is a non turbo slow machine, we don’t really use it a huge amount for Ag stuff, occasionally muck shed out etc. mostly used for building work and shifting things around the yard. Any off farm work it gets loaded on the low loader, road speed is terrible!
I’m looking to px my 535-95 for a machine with a little more reach on it. I’ve got a budget of around £25k, any recommendations? And if you know of a good one for sale that’d be ideal. Like to look of Merlo 38.12, looks nice and compact for the capacity. The JCB is a big old machine!
Trying to work out which heating/hot water system to go for in a holiday accommodation barn conversion.
Its quite a small building and will be heavily insulated, so hopefully heating demand won’t be huge. Likely to be only 2 guests at a time so hot water shouldn’t be big either.
I’m leaning...
I’ve checked that and it does move. Not sure on the terminology but the rod inside the valve is the bit that’s sticking, the solenoid part is working fine. It’ll work for a while and then just gets stuck in position
I had a chat with Benbrit and they put me onto a mobile guy. He hasn’t been out yet but he got me to test the solenoid, which isn’t at fault. Now it’s trying to source a replacement valve block, apparently there’s some non genuine options? Or do I just go straight to Chilton? Here’s the unit
Yes I’ve taken the whole unit apart a few times now, given it all a thorough cleaning. The actual hydraulic valve part doesn’t move smoothly, despite the cleaning and a gentle wet and dry. Perhaps I should take the whole unit to local hydraulic guys?
I’ve been having troubles with the 3rd service solenoid on my ts100 mx75 loader. For a while it was getting stuck and not returning to the crowd rams. But it’s now got completely stuck between both services. Any recommendations on repair or a replacement unit? Not sure if it’s just the solenoid...
Wasn’t sure if this belongs in livestock & forage or here!
Does anyone have any bright ideas on a mechanised way to feed quadrant size bales out in the field/on the hill? Currently just loading in the pick up and chucking wads out, which works fine but takes 2 people.
I know hustler make a...
