Anything is waste if you want to get rid of it - plus soil is classed as building waste and is actually more controlled than household waste.
Soil, topsoil in particular is a finite and extremely important and valuable resource, to treat it as waste is extremely irresponsible and quite frankly insulting to future generations

Has anyone ever had japanesw knotweed in agricultural land and if so does it persist?

There are many cases on the Internet that you can read. Minimum time for chemical treatment is 5 yrs if you are fortunate, but you will not get a guarantee unfortunately - unless you can see the root system to ensure the root structure is completely dead.

This problem is causing massive problems in the uk at present, to such an extent that I personally shudder when reading things like I am on here. It is not an easy issue to deal with contrary to what one would read on here, and bad practices are only serving to spread the problem, be this from farmer or council waste recycling centres.

I had knotweed in my back garden when I bought my house. First mortgage refused, second insisted that the owner paid for a licenced Gardner was hired to deal with it fr 5 years.

I've never seen the guy!!!

And in the end, took clinic ace to it with a hand sprayer, took 2 years of spraying regrowth but Its disappeared now.

5 pages, 5 pages! :ROFLMAO: I fear my attempt at humour on page 2 obviously did not work.

I fully understand the issues raised with regards to contamination etc, even more so as I do ground works. Hence why I said some discretion and honesty is required from both parties. Plus life's too short!
