It's a far right embarrassment.

May, Cameron, Johnson and Farage all need lined up and shot for making this mess.
Over 2 years wasted, and over £50bn...

Do those hard line Brexit voters on here still believe 'they need us more than we need them!' and they EU would just give us the world of we wanted it. F**king fruit loops

But anyway...

The OP doesn't half like a doom and gloom sensationalist story of fear.

The problem has been caused by remainers like yourself and May who have been intent on screwing up the talks since the day we voted out.

You'll find more truth if you had said the govt. has failed everyone. It's not 'remoaners' who would have shot May down today - it would have been her Brexiteers who think she's gone soft, where the reality is Vote Leave promised a hell of a lot which they could NEVER deliver on.

May is a remainer and so are a lot of MPs, they have been working to derail brexit and sell the country out for the last 2.5 years, only way now is a hard brexit and this sadly is the fault of the remainers in government.

The only way from the start has been a hard Brexit, or no Brexit - regardless of who is/was in charge. Need to be pretty dumb to think we ever could cut a deal that would favour us over them...

There is defo alot less live export than say 10years ago, maybe the government will buy and stock pile lamb so the arse doesn't fallout the market, the days of store lambs making 25/30 pounds and fat 40 ,can't come back, or every sheep farmer will be out game. Foot and mouth years prices can't return, unless we get a head age payment on lambs for 3 years till things settle down back to normal.

You're Scottish, that's enough.

What happened to democracy? We had a vote. Does that not mean anything?

A referendum is just the asking of a question. There is nothing to say govt MUST act upon the result... but it is usually political suicide to then ignore the majority.

The Tory's have managed to split the country, then pee off every side and ruin their own credibility all in 1 go :ROFLMAO:

I heard the other day their preparing slaughterhouses in the south east to take all of the livestock that will be stuck in Dover?

I’m more optimistic and I’m hoping it will all sort itself..

Well as there is only one abattoir left of any significant size with spare capacity in the South East and that is Halal I don't think that statement is very accurate. Only breeding livestock go through Dover these days.

The point is about markets being shut in the event of a no deal Brexit is that it will take a minimum of 6 months before certification is approved from a Third World country, which is of course what we will be. Tariffs will be imposed once the necessary paperwork has been agreed.
So there will have to be some process in place to take all this stock off the market to prevent a total collapse for at least 6 months.

Before all you Leavers say they will want our lamb still so we can still buy there Cars etc. Don't be quite so sure about that. It should be remembered that lamb is a luxury meat in Europe and while they will miss not having it there will be plenty of cheap pork, chicken and beef. The French economy is not in a great shape after the Gilet Jaune protests.

The brightest thing that has happened today is the collapse in the pound against the Euro!!

Yes but the positive things will be that the UK will not be importing Irish/ Polish beef or pork etc from Denmark which will leave the UK short of meats so a lot of what would normally be exported will have a home in the UK market to replace all these meats that aren't being imported.

Also if there is a no deal brexit then the £ will drop a lot lower than it currently is so that will mean other country's will be very keen to do trade deals with the UK quickly.

Also if we do go out with no deal that will mean NZ lamb will not be able to be imported until we do a trade deal with them I believe or at least we can stick high tariffs on it until we do a deal with them so that will help UK lamb price in the short term.

Thou of course there will be a deal, the way things are panning out have long been planned by the EU/ May to ensure we have a soft brexit and don't actually leave the EU in real terms.

People need to think for a minute before panicking.

If there's no movement of good into EU from UK, how they feck is the EU going to replace goods previously sourced from the UK? And vice versa
Macron has enough problems already without shortages or price hikes because of tit for tat trade disputes
Believe me, the borders will operate as normal post Brexit -it's in everybody's interest
