its cheap bearings, imagine nh were prob 'shafted' on them but never the less there is still tonnes of them out there that just fail prematurely and do differing degrees of damage and expense when they go, depending on how early there caught. its a gamble i am just not willing to take, i can live with the possibility of a syncro on 3rd gear in a dyna 6 over 200bhhp (or twice if you pay lemon to fix it ;)) but catastrophic failure due to faulty bearings is worrying.

https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/t7-200-gearbox-problems.234512/

To be fair though thats probably pauper tractors, i.e over 10 years old which i could afford perhaps the new ones are better?

shame really as they do sound great and i believe the engines are good.

We brought a Dyna 6 thinking it would be reliable. It was delivered brand new with a fault code. “It’s just a sensor its fine”. 9hrs on the clock winched onto a low loader, we never saw it again.
Apparently they hadn’t put the holes in the oil galleries or something and it welded itself up solid.

dont get me wrong nowts perfect, including the dyna 6, but the nh boxes seem like ticking time bombs, yours sounds more like a Friday afternoon model!

and to be fair when he posted it some one moments later said the same thing, bearing failure and in a different box 😬

you heard of anyone else with the same issue as yours, strikes me as very unlucky rather than common fault.

Not heard of anyone else, having said that I don’t really know of many MFs in this area, I can only think of about 3 in the area

thats cos you run fastracks, another machine i wish had bought when they were "out of fashion" would like one but they fetch silly money (any could not really justify one) now its like people have only just realised how good they are!

nice 3200 would be a treat of anything post 2000

if im not mistaken in the first 2 posts of it covers power command and range command, del boy says 13k of repairs

Makes interesting reading about the nh bearings failing.

Does the massey give much more problems than the fendt?
Yes
Cab suspensions on mf is a money pit if you want it to work properly
Constant emissions issues
Just left us with a bad taste for MF
Before we even took the 8690 out to the first job it derated itself due to adblue issues
Second day on the job the pto solenoid fizzled
Transmission cooler is way undersized on dynaVT on all 7600 and 8600 series...( and they're kept clean) we've even added an extra rad to help keep trans from overheating.
We work the fendts by far harder any mf we've had and have never seen a vario over 180°f
Sorry if I sound color blind but a fendt is a well designed machine
Cost per hour to operate the fendt wins hands down

You do realise that the DynaVT is identical to the Fendt transmission and that the PTO solenoid is similarly identical and the full transaxle/hydraulic unit shipped fully assembled from Germany to wherever your tractor's final assembly plant, presumably Jackson, Minnesota.
I cannot comment on the cooling pack spec Jackson choose to install.

Yes I am aware of all the above
The fully assembled transaxle is not the problem, it's what gets added at final assembly
As for cooling pack specs,we've had Jackson and Boovis assembled tractors and both have same cooling systems.
Each to his own, what I've posted reflects our company's opinion... I respect the fact that others views may differ

Only viable transmission on Nh and Case tractors is the Ac/Cvx anyways, so the problem is easily sorted. :)

We were all JD before 2008, apart from some McCormick hires, when we brought a VT MF.
Fastracs only arrived in 2010, and we still have more JDs than anything else.
