New Defender

Just wondering if anyone has bought a new Defender. I had an extended test drive in one a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed. I had intended to buy a Discovery5 but I have ordered a new Defender. Yes they are a lot of money but hopefully will have a good resale value.

i see them as ugly in most colours, but perhaps with the right paint job the long wheel base might come close to my old disco 3, dont like the newer disco.
i just view them as an rehash of the disco3/4

Will be an own goal for JLR if they draw customers away from other models in their line up.

New Defender, but not the replacement for the old Defender.

Personally I can’t see them having anything like the resale value of the old model, but if you like the vehicle just buy it because of that.

I'm sure they are a great vehicle, they look well finished and I can see why they are expensive. I was holding off changing the pickup till I seen a few about in the flesh, But there is something that just doesn't appeal, can't quite put my finger on it, so I'm out.

Starting price is £48k I believe but a few extras soon bumps the price up. I agree the look of them takes some getting used to but have a drive in one and I am sure you will be impressed.

I think if you are running a disco 3/4 you are not a pauper!!

I too see it as a replacement for disco 4, rather than old defender. Just needs the 3litre V6 diesel, or i pace running gear.
